1 package (24 oz) Butterball All Natural* Turkey Breast Tenderloins
1 teaspoon paprika
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon black pepper
2 large eggs
4 cups cornflakes, crushed in a large bag
Cooking spray
6 waffles (freshly prepared or store-bought and toasted)
4 tablespoons (1/2 stick) butter, softened
2 tablespoons maple syrup
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon hot sauce
Directions
Prepare the Ingredients: In a small bowl, mix paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper. Whisk the eggs in another small bowl.
Coat Turkey: Pat the turkey tenderloins dry with paper towels and cut each tenderloin into 6 strips to make 12 strips total. Season strips with spice mixture, working in batches, dip each seasoned strip in the egg mixture, then add to bag of crushed cornflakes and shake to coat. Place the coated strips on a lightly sprayed, foil-lined baking pan and lightly spray the tops.
Cook Turkey
- Air Fryer: Preheat air fryer to 375°F (190°C) Lightly spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray. Place the breaded turkey tenderloins in the air fryer basket in a single layer, ensuring they are not touching. Cook for 10 minutes in 2-3 batches, if necessary, until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
- Oven Bake: Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake the turkey strips for 20 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C) and the crust is golden brown.
Make the Spicy Maple Butter: While the turkey is cooking, mix the softened butter, maple syrup, cinnamon, and hot sauce.
Serve: Place a waffle on each plate, top with a tablespoon of spicy maple butter, and add two pieces of turkey. Serve with additional maple syrup and hot sauce if desired.
TIPS & NOTES:
Working in batches can help when serving a crowd. Have all your waffles and turkey prepped and just pop them in the oven to reheat before assembling and serving. This a great recipe to make and freeze. Just reheat your turkey in the oven or air fryer and toast up the waffles before serving.
Consider making bite-sized appetizers or game day snacks by cutting the turkey and waffles into smaller pieces, skewering them and serving with the butter and extra syrup.
